Have you been a victim of crime? 

The Victim Liaison Officers at Northamptonshire Probation Trust keep victims informed of an offender’s progress in prison and their anticipated parole / release date.

Victims Contact Team: Northamptonshire Probation Trust has a dedicated team of staff who deal with victims of crime. The victim contact team work with victims of offenders sentenced to twelve months imprisonment or more for sexual or violent offence, or any case in which an offender is sentenced to life imprisonment, it is a requirement that victims are offered contact by Northamptonshire Probation Trust.

The Home Offices sets a requirement that Northamptonshire Probation Trust must make contact with 90% of victims within eight weeks of the offender receiving their sentence. Northamptonshire Probation Trust currently have 100% contact with victims as of March 2010. The victim liaison officers explain the role of the criminal justice system, exchange information regarding the offender’s progress and reflects the views and concerns of the victim.

If the victim support agency is aware of additional cases in which the victim has good cause for anxiety, they may request that the local Probation Trust offers contact to the victim. For more information about victim support, please click on the following link www.victimsupport.org.uk.
